Walking With Jesus ("we", "us") respects your family's privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Walking With Jesus is a Christian family app operated by a parent or guardian. A parent creates an account and sets up profiles for their children, then generates personalized, illustrated Bible storybooks in which their child is the hero. The app is not directed to children under 13; it is intended to be used by an adult on their child's behalf.

Information we collect

• Parent account information. When you sign up with Apple or Google, we collect your email address and name. Sign in with Apple may relay a private (hidden) email.
• Child profile information you enter. For each child you add: a first name (or nickname), age, gender, an optional short appearance description, and optional interests. This is used only to personalize that child's stories and avatar.
• An optional child photo. If you choose to add a photo, it is used once to generate a soft cartoon avatar and is not stored on our servers (see "Photos" below). You never have to add a photo.
• Stories and illustrations that the app generates for your children, so they're saved to your library across your devices.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, handled via Apple, Google and RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details.
• Basic app data needed to run features (e.g., usage counts for free-tier limits, reminder settings). Some of this is processed on your device only.
• How the app is used. We record a small number of first-party events — such as a story being started or finished — against your account id, so we can see which parts of the app help families and which do not. This stays in our own database, is never sold, and is never used to profile your child.
• Referral information. If you arrived through a partner's or creator's link, we record which code brought you, so that partner can be credited. See Branch below.
• Your device's country setting (a two-letter code such as "US" or "AU"), read from your phone's own language & region settings. We use it only to understand which countries the app is used in. We do not use location services or GPS, and it is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.

How your information is stored and protected

• Data is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) and protected by Row-Level Security, so each account can only read its own family's data.
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
• Your stories, child profiles and account data are private to your account. Nobody else can list them or read them.
• About the illustrations specifically, so you know exactly where you stand: the pictures themselves are served from a content bucket at long, randomly generated web addresses. They cannot be listed, browsed, indexed or searched, and the address contains nothing that identifies you or your child. But an address that was somehow shared or copied out of the app would let whoever held it view that one picture without signing in. The pictures carry no names or personal details. We are working to move these behind sign-in as well; we would rather describe this accurately than promise more than we currently do.

Photos

If you add a child's photo, it is sent to our illustration provider (OpenAI) to create an original, soft cartoon avatar. It is used twice within that one request: once so the model can describe the child's appearance in words, and once as a visual reference while the cartoon is drawn, so the avatar actually resembles them. The photo is processed in memory to produce the avatar and is not saved to our servers or databases. Only the resulting cartoon avatar is stored. We never produce or store a photorealistic image of a child. Your child's photo is only ever sent to OpenAI — no other provider receives it. OpenAI is also the provider that draws the story pages; those pages are drawn from the cartoon avatar, never from the photo.
